Alana and her "pet"

She takes her pet gourd with her where-ever she goes in the kitchen. Then...something else tickles her fancy and the gourd is dropped...it's a really fun GAME!

Wind from IKE...took off the petals!

Last week we had wind from IKE...and it took all the petals off the one sunflower and knocked the others to the ground. Alana joined me in our "recovery" of sorts.

Our river got quite high after the rain from Hanna...here are some photos from the trail behind our house.

The rock in the distance is what we gauge the river against...this was the highest we can recollect.

And that right there is what we call a skeg killer...huge logs and debris came running down the river...

New Hampshire Highland Games!

We spent Saturday at Loon Mountain for the annual New Hampshire Highland Games. It was a blast.












The day started off a bit chilly and foggy.









But soon the sun came out and it was a lovely, about an hour and forty minutes from our house.

Well, Alana now knows how to climb into the dining room chairs and the downfall to having an "open floor plan" is that you can't close the door to the "dining room". So we have the chairs on the table, they come down when Alana's in her high chair and we're all eating...a day in the life...eh!

Tunnel fun! 9/5/08

I got this tunnel at target on sale a long time ago, it's only recently that Alana's been interested in playing in it.
