November 1st -- Walk Around the Monuments!

Yesterday was another "Gettin' in Shape" Event. A 5K walk from the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial and ending at the closed National Museum of American History! 'Twas a fun day!

Collage of pictures from Sunday's adventure. The little guy is Alexander, an 8 wk beagle puppy, found on a golf course sometime last week! He received 5+ applications, and I'm sure he'll be going to his forever home soon.

and what in the world? Last week I went to NYC with LK and LM -- had a great 24 hours in the big apple...then there was the 7 hour drive home, yeah...tractor trailer turned over on the turnpike, makes no fun ride home...but we did practice a little spanish, listen to Sarah Vowel (awesome) AND we drove up on this lovely truck just after the traffic jam ended...I think it's Pete's Dragon...other thoughts?






I know what it is...LK, very observantly let us know as we were driving by and I was clicking the camera.

Needless to say, we'd been in the car too long at that point.

To Hell and Back (rewind)

Yes, a special delivery for me! Look what came in the mail at VB!!?!

KQ visited Hell, Michigan on 6/6/2006 and she tells a tale of quite a party going on when she arrived -- she mailed a few postcards to the addys' she could remember...and look at this!

Clearly this has been to "hell and back" as Susan C. was quoted saying when she saw the mailbag this week!

Sunday's Adventure

Sunday -- in the rain, Chris and John (in matching outfits) decided to tear up our awful bottom slab of concrete sidewalk and replace it with new! I wish I had a before shot, but I'll describe it, everytime it rained/snowed/etc....the pile of muddy ickiness would pool at our last slab of sidewalk, making either the house or CAR very dirty!
